Moronic Monday- Auog Style

Posted on November 29, 2010 by ThePeachy1 in Moronic Mondays

Hi guys, it’s here, Monday. With a nip in the air and it’s  basically laughing in our face letting us know it’s going to attempt to fall us like a huge oak tree onto a roof of our local happy spot. It’s our job to punch monday in the throat/crotch and show it who is boss.  I can’t help you, but I give you this ammo in hopes it will be like Monday butt kicking red bull to help you through your day.

The creation of this post is a Moronic Monday story all of it’s own, last week I decided to do an audio blog for Monday, I called it an auog, cause it’s not a vlog since I don’t include video. ( as that would require me to actually get dressed and possibly brush my hair)  I thought it would be quicker.  I finished it on Tuesday, clearly not quicker.  Also my daughter said I should use a script and possibly not sound so monotone. I was like uhm yeah, not re-doing it.

So here’s your Auog  ( I created that word thank you)

Warning it is possibly NSFW due to a couple PG words and 1 R picture.

Ok  so I hope that made you laugh or smile, or spew your Monday Morning refreshment all over the keyboard.  Now that I have entertained I have to mention something that unless you’re living in a cave under a rock you already know.

Trevor is 13.  Trevor is in UAB hospital.  Trevor is having open heart surgery on Tuesday 11/30/2010.   Trevors favorite color is blue. ( click here to read his story). You can support Trevor via comments, emails,  standard mail for cards and photos,  or even through a monetary donation.  I simply can NOT thank the bloggers like JC Little from Animated Woman, and Holly at MidWesternMamah, and Leslie at Crooked Stamper and all the rest who are tweeting the hash tag #4trevor .  The tons of people who have made their face book profiles blue for him.  Seriously you people are awesome.  Below is a Mr Linky,  you can add your url there, you can grab a badge and code over at Hollys blog.  Thank you to all who have shown support and a Thank you in advance for those who will.  Rabbit made the twibbons for Facebook and Twitter, Holly made the badge, and there is even a FB event called BlueOut4Trevor you can simply click attending and then leave a word or two of encouragement.   Again I am humbled by the way social media CAN make a difference, and the level of caring out there.

Go kick Mondays butt,  and on Tuesday wear blue and think of Trevor.

Finally Friday

Posted on November 26, 2010 by ThePeachy1 in Funny Stuff Friday

I am still stuffed like this years bird, “Tommy”..  To all of you out there participating in the mad sales and long lines and MMA Gramma shoppers.  I seriously hope you guys remember to pick something up for me, or to someone from me.  Either way but the first is a really good thing.

About to start your Friday Funnies  but I wanted to remind everyone about Trevor,  You can read about him here, or over at MidWesternMamahs and there’s a badge you can grab and then add yourself to Mr. Linky.  Nov 30th is Blue OUT for Trevor, everyone wears blue, goes blue to show support for Trevor.

Here’s your Friday Funnies-  via email from my dad.

My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he’s 97 years old
and we don’t know where he is.

I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I’m doing..

I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven’t lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.

The next one is my favorite EVER !
Every time I hear the dirty word ‘exercise’,
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they’ll say,
‘Well, she looks good doesn’t she.’

If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,……
just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there’s a lot more information in our heads.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Now I have to go and lay back down on the couch with the remote in my hand and a turkey leg hanging out of my mouth with a pumpkin pie laying on my chest because seriously I am so not getting into a fist fight over a toy a kid wont remember who gave it to him in 2 days.

Have a great weekend people.  The Holidays are upon us.

Turkey Day

Posted on November 26, 2010 by ThePeachy1 in It's Juicy, The Peachy Tree

Hi Everyone it’s Friday can I get a WOOT WOOT?   Because this week has been insane and I cooked enough to feed the small army that shared our holiday with us.  Let me just run down the menu.

Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, deviled eggs, fresh veggie tray,  candied yams, green bean casserole,  corn on the cob, cranberry tray ( jellied and berries), yeast rolls.

Then came the home made deserts- pumpkin bread, chocolate chunk cookies,  peanut butter cookies with a kiss, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake,  French Vanilla Bean Cream Pie.

Yep,  I cooked 3 days straight, set up tables re-arranged furniture and thanks to my daughter and husband we cleaned the funk you find when you move your furniture 1 time a year.

Sat down at the table with My husband, My daughter who came home from college, The 9 yr old prince, my Mom and a nice lady named Sue who just moved to the coast and has no family.  She is a neighbor of my Mom’s .  Absent was my 19 yr old son, but he called me that morning.  My Dad and Step Mom stopped by.  All in all it was really a wonderful day.  Last year I had a friend from England as a Thanksgiving guest as we had him skype into the meal. ( not fair he couldn’t taste it), and I also had the serious medical condition of a dear friend over shadowing my every thought.

Today we were all relatively healthy, relatively happy, and seriously over fed.  We are grateful for the ability to have the food to share, to have our home to make the food and to have the family and friends both new and old.
