OH baby, it’s only Lundi Gras and I am beat like a rug on a clothes line.
For those of you that don’t know, it’s Carnival season here on the Gulf Coast. That means the balls and Royal Courts and all the fancy pre game stuff started a couple months ago.
Then the last 2 weeks there have been parades after parades after parades. But this last weekend was the last weekend before Mardi Gras, which is FAT TUESDAY. ( the day before Ash Wednesday).
Today is Lundi Gras, the Monday prior to Fat Tuesday or the official “Mardi Gras”.
Yes it’s during the week, always will be always has been. Yes we shut down all business and block interstates, high ways and whatever else we feel like shutting down, because IT’S FREAKING MARDI GRAS!
Tomorrow is the big day. I am already beat but I will gather strength in the 200 years of people who did this before me and fulfill my duties to party, not for me, FOR YOU!
